    4. Treasurer’s report

    Total monies to keep the building open for twelve months approximately £2,500

     

    5. Health and safety including play area (standing agenda item)

     

    Significant work has been done to improve the playground and we anticipate it being completed and open by Monday 3rd August.

    RoSPA inspection due August.

    Three tables and chairs purchased and one will be disability compliant

     

    6. No regular users due to Covid 19

     

    7. No current events since previous meeting due to Covid 19

     

    8. Update on current events planned (including advertising and other communications)

     

    ‘Picnic at the Park’ – Saturday 22nd August 2pm till finish

     

  • Free BBQ – 3pm to 5pm (Gary)
  • Free Teas and Coffees and paid bar (Mel, Jackie, Shaun and Tessa)
  • Music (Shannon?)
  • One way system to be implemented for toilets
  • Additional signage required for event and one way systems
  • Additional anti bac stations and tissues  (Jackie)
  • Additional bins (Gary)
  • Leaflet to all residents (Mel and Jackie)
  • Free entry
  • Residents invited to bring own picnic
  • Socially distant measures to be in place

     

    9. Future Event Planning

     

  • Saturday 26th Sept – Singalong with SM - CANCELLED
  • Wednesday 28th October kids Halloween event (GR)
  • Sunday 8th November – Remembrance Sunday (PJ)
  • Race night Saturday 7th Nov
  • Saturday 12th December – Tuneless choir Christmas concert (booked)

     

    10. Buildings and grounds improvements (aspirational or required)

     

    Committed to replace ceilings (booked)

    Committed to have the hall repainted (agreed but not booked)

    Additional heating for Ladies awaiting quote

    Repairs to wall surrounding old fireplace underway

    Two external signs kindly donated by Mel and Jackie. Not everyone in agreement that the signs are appropriate but carried via majority vote.

    Thanks to Peter Thurston for supplying fencing.

    Thanks to Stephen Burt for donating seating.

    Tessa and Jackie will find some quotes for possible replacement of internal tables and chairs

    Gary to ask fire service to confirm whether we can have only two fire escapes to enable changes to toilet areas.

     

    11. Communications (inc links to other organisations, church, parish council, neighbourhood planning group and so on)

     

    Gary to E mail vicar re the picnic at the park

    AGM set for Thursday 8th October 7.30. Committee members only plus anybody who wishes to be nominated for the committee.

    All residents to be invited to contribute via E mail to Gary. They will receive a personalized E mail back after the AGM and their contribution will be included in the minutes (and anonymized if they wish)

    Gary to send leaflet to all residents nearer the time
