PARISH OF DOWSBY

 ANNUAL PARISH MEETING 2024

Held 7.30p.m., 9th May, 2024 at Dowsby Village Hall.

  1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE – M. Hill

 

  1. PUBLIC DISCUSSION

2.1       Having re-read the site approval for the village gateway sign project it cannot continue at the moment until clarification has been sought about whether an approved contractor is required and what the specification would be. This delay is unfortunate as the six gates are ready to be installed.

 

  1. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT (Cllr L. Rodford):

3.1       Development proposal for Spinney Farm – No further information from Savills

            Building work has started at 39 Main Road (Spinney farm)

 

  1. STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS 31st MARCH, 2024.
  1. Summary of Payments & Receipts, year ended 31st March 2024 was made available to the meeting. Funds carried forward 1st April, 2023 £4,739. A copy of the accounts summary is attached to these minutes.  There were no questions on the accounts.
    1. The accounts have been reviewed by Mrs. Michelle Free and her report from 4th May 2024 has been received. Although the numbers are correct, there were several procedural issues that should be addressed. Mrs. Free completed the AGAR on 4th May 2024.

 

  1. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

Minutes of Annual Meeting, held 18th May, 2023, having been previously

circulated and published, were approved and signed.

  1. MATTERS ARISING FROM THESE MINUTES - None

 

  1. RECEIVE REPORT FROM DOWSBY VILLAGE HALL & PLAYGROUND ASSOCIATION. (DVHA). –  Chairman: Mel Randall

Doors on the village hall are virtually complete with work being carried out by a contactor from Scotland. Thanks to the Parish Council for their support in this. All money has been recovered from the previous contractor.

There are several planned events including a D Day celebration and BBQ on the 8th June and a village fete on 20th July.

The regular quiz night on a Tuesday is still proving popular.

The Rospa report for the playground identified only minor issues. A refurbishment for the playground is being considered. Grants have been found to be available for outdoor gym equipment also being considered.
