Minutes of Meeting of Dowsby Parish Council

Held 17th November, 2021, 7.30p.m. at Village Hall, Main Road, Dowsby.

986      REPORTS FROM REPRESENTATIVES OF OUTSIDE BODIES -

J. Dixon gave a summary of activities in the village hall. The blinds have been replaced.

There had been several successful events including the remembrance service and Halloween, with forthcoming events including Shannon Mason singer and a December Xmas party. The bingo events provide a regular income to bolster funds.

Renovation work to the front doors is on-going.

 

987      NOTES OF MEETING 16th September 2021 were approved as Minutes.  Proposed Cllr. V. Barker, seconded by Cllr. J. Dixon.

 

988     CLERK’S REPORT ON MATTERS OUTSTANDING

 

988.1   Rippingale Neighbourhood Plan – final document had been passed to Dowsby PC councillors to review, as part of the approval process. Having been involved in the preparation of the combined Rippingale and Dowsby plan, Cllr Dixon felt there would be no issues for Dowsby. No other comments. Clerk to respond accordingly.

988.2   Sandbags – These and the sand has been delivered, sand needs to be transferred to the bin at the front of the village hall. Letter of thanks to be sent to Cllr Moseley. Clerk to action.

988.3   Playground inspection – inspection report sent to Village Hall committee. Any issues were only orange and are being remedied. Clerk to pay invoice.

988.4   Police survey – Maisie McMahon invited to council meeting but not available. Specific rural issues for Dowsby highlighted to be Speeding, Dog fouling and small amount of Anti-social behaviour at the village hall. Councillors also felt hare-coursing and fly-tipping should be included. Survey at the link provided is available for all to complete should they wish to do so.

988.5   Queens Platinum Jubilee – communication suggesting a Beacon lighting or other event to mark the occasion. All to consider ideas for the village.

988.6   Bumpy Fen road – Fix my street request for the bumpy Fen road rejected as outside the criteria for action to be taken.

988.7   Salt – an offer of salt for winter use on the highways has been made although there is no actual storage facility in the village. The purchase of bins may be necessary. Clerk to check deadline.

988.8   NHS survey – similar to the Police survey available for all to respond if they wish to do so.

992      MATTERS OF AN URGENT NATURE

 

992.1   Sign at junction in need of cleaning. Cllr. Dixon to raise a Fix my street.

992.2   Stone wall at Dodds farm buildings still in a state of disrepair. Ask for status. Clerk to follow.

992.3   Undergrowth in Dyke could do with clearing again. Cllr. Chambers had removed rubbish after the last cut. Clerk to follow.
